Hello Primary 1,
This is week 7 of online learning. This week in Literacy you will be building CVC words and learning all about staying safe in the sun through a new story called 'George the Sun Safe Superstar'. In Numeracy you will practise making/reading o'clock times.
There are a number of 'extension' sheets provided for Numeracy. Anytime an extension is provided it should be considered an optional activity depending on how much work you/your child want/are able to do on a given day. Please don't feel overwhelmed or under pressure to complete all activities provided.
There are also a few practical activities uploaded, focusing on time. In school we normally complete many practical activities in the classroom based on the theory of 'active learning'. You can replace worksheet activities with these practical activities if you wish.
All children are different in their abilities and levels of concentration. We would normally take this into consideration in the classroom and differentiate accordingly. Currently you are in the best position to decide what activities suit your child best, so please follow your instincts.
